India is the birthplace of love. India was one of the first civilizations to recognize the human need for love and give cultural expression to that, in poems, pictures and monuments. LOVE IN INDIA is a story of repressed moral values in a country with a timeless tradition of spiritual sexuality. A search for the root of romance and the eternal orgasm, the viewer is treated to a seeker’s journey looking for the source of what makes us. It attempts to look into love’s promises and deceptions through mythical stories, religious philosophy and right up to the filmmaker’s own personal life.
Directed by Q, Love in India had its World Premiere at HotDocs, Toronto and travelled to several international film festivals like Porn Film Festival (Berlin), Asiatica Film Mediale (Rome) and Independent South Asian Film Festival (San Francisco).
