SYNOPSIS
This deceptively rolicking teen sex comedy set in Bangalore of the 80s follows the journey of 4 university quiz nerds trying to win the All India Quiz Finals while valiantly trying to get laid. Naman, a young quizard, leads his hopelessly nerdy high school friends on a trip to Calcutta. The journey of the film shakes their witty, clever, horny selves to the core, to reveal caste privilege and cluelessness, and behind their misogyny a twisted ability to love.
Q’s Brahman Naman saw a world premiere at Sundance. Netflix launched in India with Brahman Naman making it India’s first Netflix Original.

~ Raising a finger to the Indian upper class, the camera is mightier than any sword for director Q. Revered internationally as one of India’s most vital independent filmmakers, this provocateur‘s newest cinematic cocktail takes the classic American teen comedy, sharpens it with bawdy British word play, and hurls it in the face of the establishment with a fresh Indian cast. This is a stylish, hilarious postcolonial rub that proves the pulse of underground Indian cinema has quickened.~
